HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I MAKE?
Franchises are tightly regulated by the federal government and the specifics of this type of question can only be addressed in a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). To obtain a copy of this document you will need to complete the basic application and be approved through an initial interview. In the FDD you will find a section called Financial Performance Representations. This is where you can find the gross sales, cost of goods sold, gross profit margins and much more.
HOW LONG BEFORE I START MAKING MONEY?
This question is one with too many variables to allow for an easy answer. A franchise with an existing infrastructure (office, warehouse, vehicles, etc.) may be able to generate a profit very quickly while a contractor who has always run a business from the cab of a truck may have substantial start up costs and, therefore a longer time frame to profitability. Once you get through the initial interview we can provide you with contact information to our current franchisees and they can share their individual experience with you.
WHAT ARE DELTA DISASTER SERVICES® ROYALTIES?
The royalty fees for Delta Disaster Services® are based on the two types of jobs that you will work. Fees are 8% of gross on all emergency services jobs and 4% of gross on all construction jobs. Emergency Services has a substantially higher profit margin, thus the difference.
HOW MUCH TECHNOLOGY WILL I HAVE TO HANDLE?
The Delta Disaster Services® model succeeds in no small part because of the use of technology. You need to be computer literate and willing to learn our existing programs as well as any new software that we may adapt. While employees can handle much of the day-to-day, it is imperative that you have a working knowledge of all software systems and be able to function within them effortlessly.
WHAT WOULD BE THE SIZE OF MY MARKET AREA?
Without knowing the particular area that you are interested in that is a difficult question to answer. During your initial interview we will discuss your geographic location and the size of that population. In general, you need a minimum of 250,000-300,000 population within a two hour radius of your home base location.
HOW MUCH WILL BUYING A DELTA DISASTER SERVICES® FRANCHISE COST?
CAN I REALLY KEEP MY CURRENT CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS AND START A DELTA DISASTER SERVICES® FRANCHISE?
Yes. An ideal franchise candidate has a current, successful construction business and is looking to transition into the recession-resistant world of insurance restoration. Running your current company parallel to your Delta Disaster Services® franchise is not only possible, it is encouraged.
IS INSURANCE RESTORATION CONSTRUCTION ANY DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION OR REMODELING?
Only as different as apples are from oranges. While hammers, drywall and subcontractors are used in each, the maze of policies, procedures, requirements and politics make insurance restoration a world unto itself. And although, the complexities of insurance restoration are vast, the volume of claims you will have and the ability to handle the myriad of details associated with each is even larger. The actual construction, frankly, is the easy part.
WHY SHOULD I NOT JUST ENTER THIS INDUSTRY ON MY OWN?
From the outside looking in, that appears to be a valid train of thought and it is exactly why so many general contractors attempt to enter the insurance restoration industry. It is also the exact reason why most of the contractors fail in this business as well. What you do not know can destroy you. Insurance restoration, while using the same trades as traditional construction, is a world onto itself. It is also a very tiny universe and once you have a reputation of not understanding insurance policies and procedures it can be almost impossible to gain repeat business. Why not do it on your own? Simply put, we have over 150 years of combined experience and we can show you how to navigate all of the particulars of this complex industry. Why not start, from day one, with a minimal learning curve and begin earning profits much faster?
WHY DO YOU SAY THAT MOST CONTRACTORS FAIL IN INSURANCE RESTORATION?
While contractors understand the trades, most do not understand the complex maze of requirements, procedures, policies and politics involved in insurance restoration. Additionally, without a dedicated software system the average contractor is unable to manage the myriad of details associated with the type of claims volume that comes with running a successful operation. Not only do we understand this information, we are the experts with over 150 years of combined experience and a proven model of success that has been recognized by Inc. Magazine and Qualified Remodeler Magazine.
HOW DOES DELTA DISASTER SERVICES® DIFFERENTIATE FROM THE COMPETITION?
The actual ingredients to our “secret sauce” of success is something that we discuss after you have completed a basic application and have been approved in an initial interview. Here is a brief list of the Delta Disaster Services® differences:
- An aggressive, targeted marketing program
- Proprietary software (Delta Management Systems) that manages your entire operation wherever you have an internet connection.
- Systems, proven systems, working systems. Did we mention systems?
- Advanced customer services training and mandatory points of quality service (over 90 points) on every job.
- Financial management – profit margins are known (thanks to advanced estimating software) prior to starting any reconstruction job.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OPEN A FRANCHISE?
This depends on your current infrastructure and when you can attend our franchise training class. Best case, with an existing infrastructure that you can transition into the base of your operations, you can be up and running within 3-4 months.
